Craiova Craiova is the main city in the region of Oltenia, being a city with a great history. Main historycal person is Mihai Viteazul, the first king of Wallachia, Moldova and Transilvania at the same time and making the first union of the Romanian countrys in 1600 - 1601. Oltenia or Lesser Wallachia is a historical province of Romania. It is situated between the Danube, the Transylvanian Alps branch of the Carpathian Mountains and the Olt river (although counties to the east run across the river in some areas). The main city of Oltenia is Craiova. Other cities are Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Rmnicu Vlcea, Slatina, and Trgu Jiu. Tismana monastery Tismana monastery is 10 km far from Hobita and is one of the most famous monuments feudal age architecture. The monastery is built by Vlaicu Voda Basarab betewwn 1375-1378.
